Description
A silky, rich, and healthy vegan chocolate mousse made with just five simple ingredients. This guilt-free dessert uses ripe avocados for creaminess and is ready in minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe Hass avocados (about 400g flesh)
- ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup (60ml) pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Dice the avocado into chunks.
- Add the avocado chunks, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, almond milk, and salt to a high-speed blender or food processor.
- Pulse the mixture a few times to break up the avocado, then blend on high speed for 2-3 minutes until completely smooth and silky. Stop to scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed.
- Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or salt to your preference.
- Transfer the mousse into serving bowls, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill and firm up before serving.
Notes
Ensure avocados are ripe for the smoothest texture. If the mousse is too thick, add more almond milk. If too thin, add more cocoa powder. Chill for best results. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
