Description
A foolproof, 4-ingredient slow cooker recipe for sticky, sweet, and savory honey garlic meatballs. Perfect for tailgates, parties, and easy entertaining with minimal prep time.
Ingredients
- 16 oz frozen meatballs (beef or turkey)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Optional: 1 tsp grated ginger
- Optional: 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- Optional: 1 tsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Mince the garlic cloves.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Whisk until the honey is mostly dissolved.
- Dump the frozen meatballs into a 4-6 quart slow cooker.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over the meatballs and gently toss to coat.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours (or on high for 2 hours).
- Stir the meatballs before serving. If the sauce is too thin, leave the lid off for the last 30 minutes to reduce.
- Serve immediately with toothpicks or small forks.
Notes
Do not thaw the meatballs before cooking; frozen meatballs cook more evenly in the sauce. Stir once or twice during cooking to prevent sticking. If feeding a crowd, double the sauce ingredients. For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes or Sriracha. For a gluten-free version, swap soy sauce for tamari or coconut aminos.
