Description
These easy, no-bake bars combine salty pretzels, creamy peanut butter, and a rich chocolate topping for a perfect sweet-and-salty treat that requires zero baking skills.
Ingredients
Scale
- 10 ounces salted pretzel rods or sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: Sea salt flakes for topping
- Optional: Crushed peanuts for topping
Instructions
- Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving an overhang, and lightly grease.
- Break pretzel rods into 1-inch chunks and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine butter, powdered sugar, and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth (about 1-1.5 minutes).
- Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the pretzels and stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press down firmly and compactly using a spatula or the bottom of a measuring cup.
- Melt chocolate chips in a clean bowl using 30-second microwave intervals, stirring well between each, until smooth and glossy.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the pretzel layer and spread evenly to the edges.
- Sprinkle with optional sea salt or crushed peanuts if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
- Lift the block out of the pan and cut into 12 or 16 squares before serving.
Notes
Press the pretzel mixture firmly to ensure bars hold together. Do not overheat chocolate to prevent seizing. For best results, chill completely before cutting. Can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 week or frozen for up to 3 months.
