Description
A thick, creamy, and high-protein breakfast smoothie made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and Greek yogurt. It tastes like a milkshake, keeps you full until lunch, and takes only 5 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe bananas, frozen
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
- ¾ to 1 cup milk (2%, almond, oat, or soy)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ cup ice cubes (optional, if bananas aren’t frozen)
Instructions
- Peel bananas, break them in half, and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Pour milk into the blender first to help the blades move freely.
- Add Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and any optional add-ins (protein powder, chia seeds).
- Add the frozen bananas on top.
- Blend on low speed, gradually increasing to high, for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth.
- Adjust consistency by adding more milk if too thick or more frozen bananas/ice if too thin.
- Pour into glasses and serve immediately.
Notes
For best texture, use frozen bananas. If using fresh bananas, add ice cubes. Start with less milk and adjust to preference. Natural peanut butter is recommended but regular peanut butter works. Smoothie is best fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 hours.
