Description
A thick, creamy, and high-protein breakfast shake made with frozen bananas, peanut butter, and vanilla protein powder. Ready in just 5 minutes with minimal cleanup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium frozen bananas, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup milk (dairy, almond, oat, or soy)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup ice (optional, if bananas aren’t frozen solid)
- 1 handful spinach (optional)
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
Instructions
- If not prepped, peel and slice bananas, then freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight until rock hard.
- Pour milk into the blender first to help blades spin freely.
- Add protein powder, vanilla extract, and sweetener (if using).
- Add frozen banana slices and peanut butter.
- Blend on low speed for 10 seconds to break up chunks, then increase to high speed.
- Blend for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth and thick.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Notes
Do not use fresh bananas as they make the shake watery. Frozen bananas provide the necessary thick, milkshake-like texture. If using natural peanut butter, blend longer to avoid grittiness. Clean the blender immediately after use to prevent sticky residue.
