Description
A simple, no-cook breakfast recipe featuring creamy oats, rich chocolate, and salty peanut butter swirls. Packed with 25g of protein, these overnight oats are meal-prep friendly and require only 5 minutes of active time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (90g) Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 2 tablespoons (15g) Chia Seeds
- 1 ¼ cups (300ml) Milk of Choice (e.g., unsweetened almond milk)
- 1 scoop (30g) Chocolate or Vanilla Protein Powder
- 2 tablespoons (10g) Pure Cocoa Powder
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Pure Maple Syrup
- 1 pinch Salt
- 2 tablespoons (32g) Natural Creamy Peanut Butter
Instructions
- Prep two 16-ounce mason jars or airtight containers, ensuring they are clean and dry.
- Into each jar, add ½ cup of old-fashioned oats, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, half of the protein powder (15g), 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder, and a tiny pinch of salt.
- In a separate bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the milk and maple syrup. If using protein powder that clumps, whisk it into the milk now to ensure it is smooth.
- Pour the milk mixture over the dry ingredients in the jars. Stir well to ensure all oats are submerged and the protein powder is fully dissolved. Scrape down the sides if needed.
- Cover the jars tightly with lids.
- Drop a teaspoon of peanut butter into each jar without stirring it in, allowing it to sit on top for a distinct swirl.
- Refrigerate the jars for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until the oats are soft and creamy.
- Serve cold, topped with fresh fruit, extra peanut butter, or chocolate chips if desired.
Notes
Use old-fashioned rolled oats rather than quick oats to maintain texture. Whisk protein powder into the milk first to prevent clumping. Do not add fresh fruit before refrigerating as it will become mushy; add fresh toppings in the morning. The recipe can be made dairy-free by using plant-based protein and milk.
