Description
These cheesy, salty, and flaky Ham and Swiss Croissant Roll-Ups are a quick, freezer-friendly breakfast hack that comes together in just 10 minutes, perfect for busy mornings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (8 count) fresh refrigerated croissant dough
- 3 tablespoons (45g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water (for egg wash)
- 4 ounces (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 6–8 slices deli-style ham (about 150g)
- 1 cup (100g) shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the croissant dough triangles and let them sit for 5 minutes to warm slightly.
- Spread a thin, even layer of softened cream cheese over each triangle, leaving an inch at the tip.
- Place a slice of ham in the center, sprinkle with shredded Swiss cheese, and add a dot of Dijon mustard.
- Roll each triangle from the wide end to the point, tucking the filling in and pressing the seam to seal.
- Place roll-ups seam-side down on the baking sheet, leaving 1-2 inches of space between them.
- Brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
- Brush the tops generously with melted butter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until puffy and golden brown.
- Cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
For best results, use fresh refrigerated croissant dough rather than frozen. Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy spreading. Do not overfill the roll-ups to prevent leaking. To freeze, assemble roll-ups, freeze on the pan until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen, adding 3-5 minutes to the bake time.
