Description
A cozy, easy-to-make iced coffee drink featuring a homemade maple brown sugar syrup, cold brew coffee, and creamy milk. It captures the essence of autumn with rich, toasty flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cold brew coffee
- 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1/2 cup whole milk (or oat/almond milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, combine the brown sugar and hot water. Heat until the sugar is completely dissolved to create a syrup (about 1-2 minutes on stove or 30 seconds in microwave). Set aside to cool slightly.
- Fill a tall glass or mason jar halfway with ice cubes.
- Pour in the cold brew coffee, maple syrup, and the prepared brown sugar syrup. Add vanilla extract if using.
- Stir well to incorporate the syrups into the coffee.
- Pour in the milk. For a layered effect, pour slowly over the back of a spoon; otherwise, stir to combine.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and optional whipped cream or dusting of cinnamon. Serve immediately.
Notes
Use real maple syrup for the best flavor. Cold brew is recommended to prevent the ice from melting too quickly and watering down the drink. You can make the brown sugar syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a week. For a dairy-free version, use oat milk or almond milk.
