Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts: Easy Small-Batch Recipe

  • Author: Maya
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy small-batch recipe for crispy air fryer Brussels sprouts tossed in a tangy, spicy hot honey glaze. Perfect for 1-2 servings with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts (small to medium)
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 34 tablespoons hot honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)

Instructions

  1. Rinse Brussels sprouts and pat them very dry with paper towels to ensure crispiness.
  2. Trim off woody stem ends. Halve medium/large sprouts lengthwise; leave small ones whole.
  3. In a bowl, toss sprouts with 1 tablespoon oil, ½ teaspoon salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes if your model allows.
  5. Place sprouts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing sprouts halfway through, until tender inside and charred/crispy outside.
  7. While sprouts cook, whisk together hot honey, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl or microwave-safe cup. Warm slightly if honey is too thick.
  8. Transfer cooked sprouts to a serving bowl and immediately drizzle with the warm hot honey mixture.
  9. Toss gently to coat and serve immediately while hot and crisp.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; sprouts must have space to circulate air for crispiness. Dry sprouts thoroughly before oiling. If using large sprouts, quarter them. Do not freeze leftovers as texture will become mushy. For vegan option, substitute honey with agave nectar and hot sauce.
